Volunteer at the Peach Festival
Held in Gilbert, SC, the Lexington County Peach Festival is organized and led by community volunteers. What started as a community BBQ in 1958 has transformed into an event bigger than the town itself. With an estimated 35,000+ people attending, we rely on a strong base of incredible volunteers.
Volunteer Perks
Food provided for all registered volunteers on event day
BBQ Sandwiches, Hotdogs, Peach Desserts, and drinks!
Success Banquet BBQ for volunteers in the weeks following the festival
Helping make your community event a huge success
Students can earn financial aid for higher education
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS
We need volunteers to fill a 6-hour shift on event day (July 4). These shifts are:
AM Shift: 9am - 3pm
PM Shift: 11am - 5pm
Volunteers typically work in our concession stands selling drinks and food, dipping ice cream, and providing great service to our festival goers. Volunteers will have a leader to guide them throughout the day.
While it may be warm (hot) on the 4th of July in South Carolina - all concession stands are located under tents or permanent shelters. Shade and a gentle breeze are guaranteed. We strive to enjoy the day with friends and neighbors while providing Southern hospitality to our guests!
Financial Aid for Students
The Gilbert Community Club provides a $350 college scholarship to Lexington County students who give their time to the Lexington County Peach Festival. A student must volunteer at minimum six (6) hours for at least 3 peach festival events before high school graduation to qualify.
If you are a student and would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please register on the form below. If you have questions about this program, please contact us.
Volunteer Registration
If you're new to the festival in 2023, register and indicate where you'd like to lend a hand. We'll be in touch! All student volunteers should register as well, as it will help us track your scholarship eligibility.
